Making Resolutions

1. Set a formal intention both mentally and on paper: The act of writing a goal down somehow downloads our idea into potential action. Keep this paper somewhere where you will be reminded many times during the day, as the fog or our daily life tends to cloud our aspirations.

2. Never forget the bigger picture: Too often we forget our higher aims and get bogged down by trivia. We lose sight of the forest from the trees. If we keep in mind that our higher ideals will one day play out then we can go about the task of setting up the steps needed to attain our goals.

3. Do not lose sight of steps necessary to arrive at a goal: We have to focus and arrive at the ends but not forget the means. Small steps over time may actually bring our ultimate goal in faster for career, relationships, family, money or whatever. In fact, the more we take care of the NOW time and spend less on future worries and imaginations, the more likely we are to move faster towards larger, broader goals that we have.

4. Take personal inventory: We have to be very honest with ourselves and visualize how wide is the canyon between our desire and our actual goal attainment? It may be that we have to work through our personal resistances, inner obstacles and negative tendencies in order to narrow the canyon. ---something many want to runaway and hide from. Such inner work may take diligent healing time. The more we set our intention the more we tap into the law of attraction to what we want and the more likely our obstacles will fall away.

5. We have to visualize and actively ask inside ourselves what we want: Gratitude for what we already have draws more to us then focusing on what we do not have...Even though we are in difficult circumstances we can still draw to us what we want if we are consisitent with our effort and intent.

*** Focus on what keeps us blocked and resistant to change.. Good to focus on one or two deeper issues and emotions that can block many goals from manifesting....ie, our fear keeps us from........or our low sense of self keeps us from........  In other words getting to the root and working on one or two deeper aspects can bring out unexpected change.
