Inner Enlightenment is the true goal of health and healing.
- Yoga is not just physical excercises;
it is an Entire Way of Life.
- The goal of
any healing, religion, or spiritual path is to have the dormant enlightenment
energy known as the kundalini energy,
awakened inside of us.
- The new key is that this spontaneous awakening of kundalini needs
to be brought into the medical clinic setting
and into hospitals.
DR. RAMA'S KEY CONCEPTS
Health through Enlightenment...
The true goal of health and healing is to
rediscover inner enlightenment, known for eons and to the
ancients.
Enlightenment is a broad term that incorporates
a permanent inner state of wisdom, peace, joy, love and
light along with a body and mind that is as disease-free as
possible.
Stages of enlightenment must be experienced over time;
it is impossible to fully describe this state in words; yet
the ancient
and modern spiritual masters and saints insist that it
exists.
Until
enlightenment is permanently uncovered, we will
never
experience complete
fulfillment and happiness; there will always be something "missing" in
our lives no matter how successful or miserable we think
we are.
Enlightenment is already within us; we have
to rediscover its value and experience behind the body and
mind.
Health, medicine and healing centers and
clinics around the world should reflect this original ancient
goal of mankind as a central theme of healing and recovery.
Inharmonious living and the myriad conditionings
of the mind have clouded our original enlightenment experience.
Five Salient
Principles for Health in the 21st Century:
1. Health is our birthright, not disease. We are all endowed
with the potential for health and healing.
2. Spiritual methods and practices that foster enlightenment
are the root of true healing.
3. We have to take responsibility for our own well-being
and health as well as our preventive education while looking
to health care practitioners to advise, guide, prescribe,
diagnose and treat.
4. Beauty and radiance begins with our inner luster and
energy—,
not from merely treating the external partsof the body.
5. Food is Medicine: how, what, when, where, and why we
eat.
6 Benefits
of Meditation
Ever improving concentration and focus
Ever deepening peace, serenity, love, and bliss
Sharpening of our intellect and intuition
Balance of the functions and energies of the body
Greater abundance of energy for our daily use
Ever increasing freedom from limited thinking and narrowness
of our ego
5 Reasons Why Spirituality is linked to Health
Without touching upon the deepest part of soul, we will
never truly heal.
Spirituality of our own understanding allows greater serenity
and freedom.
Self-absorption in our own ego fosters our own illness,
selfless actions increase our energy.
Mindful meditation upon our spirit creates greater efficiency
in our day to day.
Opening to a greater consciousness allows currents of healing
to flow within the body and thus allows clearance of emotional,
mental, and physical issues.
The Process of Yoga......
The process of Yoga gradually uncovers our
enlightenment and establishes health and healing of body and
mind.
Yoga is not a religion but is the underlying
essence behind all religions and spirituality.
All spiritual and healing paths boil down
to the same essence: that we are essentially infinite spirit
veiled within a body and mind; but we have partially forgotten
the experience of Spirit that is enlightenment.
Yoga is not just physical exercises; it is
an entire way of life.
Yoga consists of ongoing, life-long, deep
introspection and contemplation about our own personal issues
that block our sense of balanced Self-esteem and health as
well as other aspects: physical postures and breathing; nutritional
and herbal recommendations based on our personal body and mental
constitution; forms of detoxification; meditation of many styles;
selfless service; and devotion to anything that uplifts ourselves
and others. The final ingredient is the grace of Spirit that
allows our inner dormant enlightenment to rise, flow and expand
through our body and mind so that we may understand and experience
this inner love, peace and bliss.
Six Reasons Yoga Will
Improve Your Health
-
Through
meditation, our own wisdom, power, bliss
and love will arise spontaneously from your
soul as your mind becomes
clearer and brighter,
leading
us to actual enlightenment.
- Greater flexibility of the entire
body will allow us a freedom that
we never knew was possible. Even a little practice will illustrate that
we can honor ourselves through our bodies.
- Greater intuition will arise
as to what foods are appropriate for us at various
times.
- We
learn to be rather than do, which allows us to spend
greater periods of time resting
in the present moment,
the joyous "now".
- We
begin to appreciate that all
life is our teacher, that our lessons and experiences are unique for
us and we become proactive rather than remain
passive.
- Hidden
creativity begins to arise as part of our own natural
awareness.
Kundalini
Energy...
Deep within us is the dormant enlightenment
energy known as kundalini energy. In Sanskrit, kundalini means, "that
which is coiled within a bowl".
The ultimate goal of any healing, religion,
or spiritual path is to have this energy awakened so that we
can experience our infinite consciousness that is normally
limited as our day-to-day experience.
The goal of Yoga is to awaken and permanently
unfold this energy, either by direct or indirect means. Yoga
practices gradually awaken this energy; in addition a spiritually
enlightened master can also awaken, unfold and guide this energy
spontaneously.
This process of enlightenment is made easier
and safer by considering a spiritual master or guru who is
also fully enlightened. A guru is one who has traversed the
process of Yoga and can help awaken and unfold others on their
own personal journey.
There are a number of gurus around the world
who are offering their guidance to hundreds of thousands around
the world.
Although most of the ones I have worked with
are from the East, gurus are not limited to the East. We are
all gurus in various stages of awakening, as we become disciples
or students of our own lives.
Spontaneous Awakening
of Kundalini...
So, the new key is that this spontaneous
awakening of kundalini needs to be brought
into the clinic setting and into hospitals. Once
we understand how to gradually practice and experience
this inner energy the body and mind become healthier because
this energy cleans away disease and despair. This along
with practice and teaching of natural medicine principles
of both East and West will foster
the new paradigm in dealing with chronic physical ailments
and difficulties within the mind. Conventional medicine
also works side by side with ancient wisdom as well. Crisis
is occurring around the world in health care because we
have forgotten the original goal of health: natural living
and spontaneous awakening and unfolding of enlightenment.
We must take the wisdom and experience of
the awakened spiritual Yoga masters from around the world and
apply it directly to health and healing in order to facilitate
real and permanent change in people's lives.
This website introduces these
basic concepts;subsequent articles will reflect these thoughts. It
is my hope that the books written so far have captured
glimpses of the importance of health, healing and enlightenment.
